Brandon + Erica = Ever After

“Life is a song – sing it. Life is a game – play it. Life is a challenge – meet it. Life is a dream – realize it. Life is a sacrifice – offer it. Life is love – enjoy it.” –Sai Baba

I stood to the side as speeches were given at this couple’s reception. The words brought laughter, but they also brought tears….heartfelt and sweet.

Brandon and Erica have known one another for years, but life took them separate ways. She had fallen in love with someone else, had children and lived her life. Many years later, when the kids were older and she was alone, Brandon walked back into her life with open arms and an open heart for the children that would soon become his. Brandon filled a gap and he filled it well. He went to the kid’s games, helped them with their homework and became Erica’s best friend. He also became a father and eventually, a fiancé.

Now, he’s a husband and she’s writing a new chapter in her book. She has a new partner, a new job, a new college degree and a new beginning. Capturing their wedding was an honor for me, the entire family was precious. So, cheers to you Brandon and Erica, I wish you all the happiness life has to offer.

Brooke & John

It has taken me a couple of weeks to sit down and write about this truly, AMAZING couple. Life has become very busy and it’s prime photography season, but lets meet them.

Brooke is an elementary school teacher and her eyes definitely show it. She has the kindest eyes and I’m sure her students feel very lucky, safe and loved around her. John is goofy and full of personality, I don’t think we went more than a few minutes without laughing during this shoot. Together, they are SO much fun to be around. Their story consists of chance meetings, failed job opportunities and being in the right place. The ring is an heirloom that holds special memories for John’s family….something you don’t give away to just anybody. Love definitely shows, but their friendship is what’s so great. Brooke and John, may you always laugh together, love together and continue to have fun….can’t wait for the big day!

A New Name, A New Life….

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength,

while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” –Lao Tzu

I could not stop the tears as I stood in the middle of the aisle, capturing this couple’s most important moment. I lost count of how many times I told my husband: “This is the sweetest wedding I’ve ever attended.” Granted, I’m 7 1/2 months pregnant and the hormones are crazy….but seriously, it was such a sweet day. I loved capturing their story.

I’m new at this whole photography thing…and I’m especially new at the whole wedding scene (this was my 3rd wedding to shoot). I feel extremely lucky that people have seen potential in me and have risked their most important moments with me and my camera….it’s nerve-racking and exciting all at the same time. When Kelsey called me, explaining that she needed a photographer quick, I took the challenge and almost threw up.

Fast forward to her bridal shoot and then her wedding…..and it’s difficult for me to find words that will even adequately express how grateful I was/am that she took this gamble. The same goes for the two previous weddings I shot. You can either document their day beautifully or really, really screw it up. I did not want to be the latter.

So, here’s to you Kelsey…..I hope you love these photos as much as I do and I hope even more that you will forever be proud of them. Always love your story. Cheers!

Beaming Bride

Nearly 3 months ago I had the honor to photograph a bride-to-be. When I got home and uploaded my RAW images I was instantly captivated and wanted to share immediately! But….I couldn’t….because she couldn’t be seen! BUT now that’s she’s a married woman, I can FINALLY post her bridal session! Having to wait this long to show these off has been torture. Number one, she is absolutely gorgeous! Number two, this was my first bridal shoot and even though I still have A LOT to learn and practice my style, I was so proud of the images. Congrats Mrs. P….I wish you life-long happiness, tolerable struggles and everlasting love. Cheers!
P.S. Wedding shots should be up soon….in the near future….after I go through all of the images…ha.

A Very, January Wedding

Words cannot express how sweet this couple (and their families) is. It was such a joy to photograph them. Granted, this was my first wedding…and wow, what an undertaking! But, I couldn’t have asked for better people to work with. They made it so easy….and helped calm my increasing anxiety. Kat & Mitch, cheers to you and to a long, prosperous marriage.
