Destination Session: Photographer’s Edition

AB Lewis Photography and the DS team have many Destination Session shoots under our belts and now we want to share some knowledge with you!

Since I presented the concept of a destination, photo shoot for teenaged and college age girls, the response has been unreal. What started as some 1 in the morning inspiration, turned into a full production that includes scouting locations, assembling a huge team (we currently have a clothing stylist, hair stylist, makeup artist, two videographers and two assistants) and creating an experience that is unmatched in this area.

We have shot in New York City multiple times, Los Angeles, CA and we went international this past summer…..yes, Paris! Destination Session is a dream come true and now I want to take you on a photographer’s journey.

What’s The Info: Destination Session | Photographer’s Edition: Location TBA

What are the Dates: TBA

What’s the Price: $600

What’s Included: Small group workshop with me in a determined location. I will take you to my favorite spots and show you how I scout locations to give my models that awesome backdrop, that cannot be found anywhere else. But even more, I’ll show you that even though trendy photography may get you likes, keeping things classic and simple transcends time.

Over the course of two days, I will take you to 4 different locations and provide you with advice and guidance on how to get that shot you see in magazines. I will also provide a professional model to shoot at these locations. All 4 shoots will be styled and the model will also be providing instruction for you, so you know what to expect from future models that will be in front of your lens after this.

The styled shoots will take place on a Saturday and Sunday. Then there will be an opportunity to schedule an editing session with me, so that you can show me your favorite shots from that day and edit them, with my guidance. A detailed schedule will be available, once sign ups are complete.

What you need: Your camera and your favorite portrait lens. I shoot with two, full frame Nikon D750 bodies. One body has an 85mm portrait lens and the other, a 28mm for a wider look. You don’t have to bring that much gear, but this is just to give you an idea of how I get different shots.

If you want to have an editing session with me, you’ll need to bring your laptop with Adobe Lightroom available. If you are not interested in this part of the weekend workshop, then no worries! With or without the editing, you can be sure that you’ll have some great RAW shots to take back home with you.

What Ashley needs: I need at least 4 people to sign up for this weekend workshop, in order for it to be worth the time and effort. If you have a friend that’s also interested, sign up together and make a trip out of it! If only 3 people sign up, the workshop will be canceled and you will be refunded. Everybody’s time and money is valuable and I definitely don’t want to waste it!

What’s the cut-off date: You need to sign up and pay in full 4 weeks before departure. This gives everyone enough time to book flights and look for accommodations. If you signup and pay, but life happens and you cannot go, please contact me as soon as possible so we can discuss your options.

Ready to sign up? Keep going.  Make sure to tell me what you’re hoping to get out of this workshop and your skill level as a photographer. Remember, this is for ALL photographers! Whether you’re starting out or have taken many portraits, you will learn something.
