Ten years ago, I spent a month in Europe. I visited many different countries and took a ton of pictures. I remember seeing a picture of the Eiffel Tower on my upload screen and thought: “Wow, I take good photos.” I think this was the first instance, in which I felt proud of a photo of mine. It was that trip that made me realize I loved photography.
I was in the classroom for 13 years and loved every moment of it. Looking back, I incorporated photography into my lessons all the time and always took special note of the visual learner.
In 2014, I took my brand new camera that my husband had given me as a Christmas present and went to NYC to train under the direction of a street photographer, James Maher. I knew that was my style and my passion and I learned so much from that experience. When you look at my photos, it’s clear I’m more of the urban/street setting type of photographer. I’ve also trained under acclaimed NYC photographer, Dani Diamond. Under his influence, I’ve honed in on my simplistic and rich portrait style you see today in many of my photos.
In 2017, I launched Destination Session and it has gone beyond what I ever thought it could be. Please click on the Destination Session tab to learn more. I offer many different types, from weddings, to workshops, so go check it out!
I currently shoot for My Other Half, a clothing line, who’s owner designs her own line of customized flannels and a couple of local designers in the NWA/Western Arkansas area: Bentonville Love and Hello, Local.
I had my first gallery showing with a photo collection titled: “Urban Contrast” in the Photographic Society of Northwest Arkansas in Bentonville, AR.
I’m a traveling girl, with a heart for interesting people, places and things. I’m the wife of a television meteorologist and a mom to two, awesome kiddos. We call Rogers, AR home….but constantly on the move.
I’ve always held myself to a high standard and there is no exception for my photography. My goal is to create real images that capture you, the real you. I would love to learn more about you if you’re interested in booking a session.
Drop me a note and say hi! I can’t wait to hear from you!
